Sakura Terrace Japanese Restaurant

Sakura was perfect for a Sunday night treat. A warm welcome greeted us with the sad(and surprising) news they had run on of sushi rice so no sushi on the menu. Very funny. Luckily we were after the ramen so we weren’t disappointed. The ramen was good, not so authentic, but some nice flavours. Great friendly service in a nice environment. Will come again when the sushi rice is back in the house.

Food is really good. I highly recommend the sashimi and so I believe their sushi should be spot on as well. The only thing that I didn’t enjoy is the ramen. It tasted nothing like ramen to me.

Really impressed with this place! The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, flavourful, and clearly made with care. The lady who served us was so lovely and thoughtful, which made the whole experience even better. Great service and great vibes. Will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend.

It is one of the best Japanese foods we have in the UK! The service was very good and attentive, and the food was fast and fresh. The atmosphere was very calm and just right. We had dragon roll, scallop sushi, Tamago, Takoyaki, ramen, and Gyudon. All the dishes were amazing and delicious. This is now my favorite Japanese restaurant! Highly recommended

Absolutely the best sushi in the UK. Fantastic service and nice atmosphere. Menu with many options, so many that is even hard to decide. I went there with my son and wife and we decide to get sushi... It was amazing, we are all sushi lovers but we didn't expect it to be so good. Now it is definitely one of my very favourite restaurant and definitely we will come back, every time when we come to Bournemouth. Super nice and very helpful service making this place a one of a kind.

We’ve Bournemouth every year for the last few years now and each time we make sure we have a booking here. Firstly, it was so nice that the lady recognised us from our visit last year, and came to speak to us when the restaurant was quieter, almost like an old friend. We told her we’d see her next time, and we definitely mean it. Secondly, the food was really good. We didn’t bother having a big lunch today knowing we had a booking tonight and boy did we enjoy our feast! The prices are very reasonable too. Thirdly, we liked the fact that they managed customers’ expectations. When we came it was relatively busy and they told us there might be a slight wait for the food. It didn’t feel that long before our food arrived and we were pleasantly surprised, because we were starving! Definitely a thumbs up from all of us!

Sakura Terrace is one of the finest Japanese restaurants I’ve visited. We sampled a delightful variety of dishes including edamame beans, miso soup, chicken katsu curry, teriyaki salmon donburi, volcano rolls, spicy beef ramen, vegetable gyoza, and mochi vanilla ice cream—all of which were absolutely delicious. The portion sizes were generous, the flavours spot-on, and the service was exceptionally warm and attentive. The smooth jazz playing in the background added a lovely touch, creating a calm, relaxed atmosphere that made the whole experience feel even more special. It’s a quiet, chilled spot—perfect for a laid-back evening—and it’s fantastic value for money too. I honestly can’t recommend it highly enough. A real gem!
